The textbook "Bioremediation of Heavy Metals" offers a comprehensive examination of the bioremediation of heavy metals, particularly cadmium and lead, through the inoculation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in sorghum plants. In field studies, sorghum plants were cultivated in pots and treated with various concentrations of cadmium and lead. The analysis of plant growth parameters, both physical and biochemical, allows for a deep understanding of the mechanisms underlying the absorption of heavy metals by AMF, microbes, and plants. The results show that sorghum plants are capable of surviving even at high concentrations of heavy metals and can absorb significant amounts of these metals from the soil.
