Frija Larsson lives a secluded life with her sixteen-year-old daughter Sara in the small community of Svanberga by Lake Erken. She vigilantly watches over the girl, keeping all dangers at bay. But then the unimaginable happens - Sara disappears without a trace. Detective Jacob Hedlund has known Frija for many years and goes beyond his professional duties to help her search for her daughter.
