Author text
Bill Watterson (actually William B. Watterson II), the author and draughtsman, was born in Washington D.C. on July 5, 1958. When he was six years old, the family moved to Ohio. Watterson successfully completed his studies in political science there in 1980 and is now married to his wife Melissa. He lives quite a secluded life, always shying away from the public and hating being the center of attention or being considered a "celebrity." Since the end of the 80s, the popular artist has not given any more interviews. So not too much is known about him as a person: Only five years after graduating, Watterson published the cult series "Calvin and Hobbes." For ten years, he drew the adventures of the little boy and his cuddly tiger, until on December 31, 1995, he published the last strip about the little chaotic boy and his stuffed tiger of his own will. Towards the end of his creative period, his comic strip was printed in more than 2,300 different newspapers worldwide, and sales of the individual scrapbooks today amount to around 30 million.

Flap text
Crazy creatures from outer space. It is said that there are people who take on a new "Calvin and Hobbes" book in a very disciplined way: Only one page is read per day to enjoy the fun as long as possible. Others, once they have opened the book, can't put it down. Whether masochist or glutton, all "Calvin and Hobbes" fans can look forward to a new volume of the charming duo in June. "Irre Viecher aus dem All" contains several Sunday pages, strips, and illustrations in its first German publication. Who would like to know why a ball game without push-ups, nettle arms, and nose-pieces is really only for sissies; in which situation Hobbes throws an amiable "Eat feathers, fur-cheek!" at Calvin; and what the existentially important tiger oath "Perfect is a tiger, the crown of nature..." reads in full length, will not want to miss the new volume.
