The book "Critical Success Factors for Implementing BSC in Private Universities" by Rasha Mahboub offers a comprehensive analysis of the critical success factors (CSFs) for the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in private universities, particularly at the Beirut Arab University (BAU) in Lebanon. Despite the growing popularity of the BSC as a performance management tool, its application in private educational institutions remains limited. This research examines the challenges and opportunities associated with the introduction of the BSC and identifies twelve relevant factors that are crucial for success. Through a combination of literature review, surveys, and case studies, it is shown that eleven of these factors are perceived as critical for implementation. The findings suggest that BAU should make adjustments to the existing factors to maximize the effectiveness of the BSC implementation. The book is aimed at professionals and decision-makers in the education sector who are interested in improving performance assessment and management in their institutions.
