Astrid Kaufhold got to know her grandfather, Artur Seifert, as a child and teenager, experiencing all his facets. She took this as an opportunity to edit his biography, which he wrote in his later years, and to compile it into a worthwhile whole with contributions from family members. Artur Seifert was born in 1903 and thus lived through both World Wars and the most difficult times. Even during his Russian captivity, he managed to survive despite the harshest circumstances.
