In the context of financial market turbulence, the significance of liquidity risk and efficient liquidity risk management has increasingly come to the forefront. The goal is to achieve the stability of individual banks and the entire financial system. Furthermore, the financial crisis has demonstrated that the adequacy of capital requirements is also dependent on the level of liquidity risk taken on. Therefore, the EU emphasizes the necessity of managing liquidity risk and maintaining a sufficiently large liquidity buffer to be prepared for future financial market turbulence. Consequently, the strategic adherence to the two new liquidity ratios (LCR and NSFR) will play an increasingly important role in the practice of banks.
