The low time, personnel, and financial investment required for job interviews makes it the most commonly used selection method in practice. However, this method has several shortcomings: the interviewer's approach can be too unstructured, there can be an excessive reliance on an ideal candidate profile, and the weighting of the information gathered can be too arbitrary. The suitability of a candidate can be significantly increased with a targeted interview structure. A crucial approach to this is the use of an interview guide. The author develops a guide for selecting future junior managers. In addition to introducing the methods of personnel selection, she demonstrates with a practical example how interviews can be prepared, conducted competently, and systematically evaluated. The appendix includes sample forms that facilitate practical implementation. To highlight and make accessible the critical aspects of the job interview for practice, this work stands out as a valuable information source for aspiring managers and target groups in human resources.
