Product details
The unsuccessful battle of the Marne for Germany was a first turning point of World War I and marked the failure of the Schlieffen Plan, which aimed to defeat France in a swift campaign. Colonel General Alexander von Kluck, who commanded the 1st Army and led the failed attack on Paris, presents here an account of the course of the campaign and his reflections on it. These are based on his own experiences, documents from the Supreme Commander, and reports from the General Staff. The material is organized by sections of the campaign. With an afterword by Ludwig Roselius, illustrated with two sketches and a map. Reprint of the original edition from 1912.
