The French excavations in Delphi have once again achieved a series of significant successes in the field of archaeology. Recently, the treasure of the Athenians was uncovered: still in its ruins, it serves as a true treasure trove for archaeologists and philologists. From the multitude of precious finds that have already been unearthed, a group of inscriptions has been selected and published, which stand out as entirely unique: the Delphic Hymns. For certain questions that were recently addressed in the Philologus, we are presented with a wealth of invaluable new material. Therefore, I believe I am both justified and obligated to report on these documents without delay.

The Delphic Hymns are the most extensive of the few surviving examples of ancient Greek music. This book on the Delphic Hymns presents studies on the texts and melodies and is an unaltered reprint of the original edition from 1894.
