Even small caterpillars can have a big appetite. That's why the Very Hungry Caterpillar sets out in search of something to eat and finds plenty. From Monday to Sunday, it munches its way through a mountain of treats, page by page, until it is finally full. Now it's time to build a cocoon, and after two weeks of waiting, a beautiful butterfly emerges from it.

The little ones play with the Very Hungry Caterpillar by sticking their fingers through the punched-out holes where the caterpillar has eaten. Slightly older children discover the days of the week, fruits, numbers, and the metamorphosis in nature alongside her.
