The book critically addresses the discussion on inclusion in various societal contexts over the past few years. The starting point of the examination is the city and urban coexistence. Cities, particularly compact, dense, and mixed neighborhoods, are particularly suitable for inclusion research and practice, as they represent adequate social spaces that reflect and reinterpret the increasingly urban character of contemporary coexistence. Against this backdrop, the authors engage empirically and theoretically with the question of how to design a forward-looking and professional framework for inclusive and sustainable urban development that also accommodates the growing mobility and diversity.
