Product details

Photogrammetry in forensic evidence recording. Illustrated with 20 black and white images. Photogrammetry (also known as photometry or image measurement) is a group of measurement methods and evaluation procedures in remote sensing, used to determine the spatial position or three-dimensional shape of an object from photographs and precise measurement images. This field emerged from geodesy around 1900 and has been associated with remote sensing for about two decades. Like most remote sensing methods, photogrammetry is a passive remote sensing and surveying technique, as it allows for the non-contact reconstruction of spatial objects from their photographically captured radiation. The objects are usually recorded in natural light and from multiple camera viewpoints (or simultaneously from several cameras). The light coming from the object to the measuring camera can be reflected or emitted radiation, although artificial lighting is typically only used for small objects.

Reprint of the original edition from 1911.
