H. A. Schuhmacher addresses an important part of the history of the Weser marshes with his work on the population of the Stedingen region located west of Bremen. Schuhmacher focuses on the late Middle Ages and the religious wars in which the Stedinger, previously condemned as heretics by the Bremen Lenten Synod, were involved.
