Teaching and practice book for imparting basic and specialized knowledge in the field of mechatronics. The main focus is on the challenges in automation technology. Programmable logic controllers are treated separately for small controllers and modular systems. In control engineering, tasks and exercises related to processes, discontinuous and continuous controllers are presented. In the 5th edition, topic areas have been enhanced with animations and 17 interactive simulations, allowing the learning field concept to be implemented in conjunction with digital media in the classroom. The digital content can also be displayed on small screens (smartphones, tablets). If tasks can be verified through simulations, a corresponding note is provided in the book. The new section on simulation tasks includes 12 pages and enables simple tasks.
