Product details

For the window factory Baumgartner in Hagendorn near Cham, the young architects Graber and Steiger, in collaboration with the landscape architecture firm Koepfli, created an eye-catching project: They responded to the existing, intricately organized structure of the company premises with a large, rectangular hall and a three-sided cantilevered, planted roof. A trellis-like climbing structure encloses the company grounds as a vegetation wall. Architecture and nature come together in a way that neither represents a romantic synthesis nor aims at confrontation and the staging of contrasts. Graber and Steiger were awarded the "best architects 08" award for the building in Hagendorn. The book presents the project comprehensively with images, plans, and texts by Hubertus Adam and Philip Ursprung. Aspects of the company's history are addressed alongside the architectural, structural, and landscape architectural concepts.
