Franz Hohler is indisputably a master of comic narrative. He proves this in his new picture book: "Once upon a time, there was a hedgehog who suddenly grew wings. He flew, you won't believe it, onto a Christmas tree. There he jumps up and down and sings the most beautiful songs. Only in the morning, when he wakes up, does he feel his spikes." That's as short a story as you can get. Franz Hohner's nursery rhymes are little comic masterpieces, ideal for reading aloud for in between.
