"Etnobiología de los Montes de María" is a specialized book that focuses on the ethnobiological analysis of the Montes de María in the Toluviejo Sucre region of Colombia. Through the conduct of 62 semi-structured interviews with the residents of Vereda La Piche, as well as direct observations of plants and animals, it provides a comprehensive picture of local biodiversity and the use of species in the region. The collected data were analyzed using the Use Value Index (UVI), applying the significant usage degree according to TRAMIL for medicinal plants. The book documents 196 plant species from 68 families and 71 animal species from 38 families, with detailed descriptions of the most common families and their uses. It offers valuable insights into the relationship between people and their environment, as well as the challenges faced by some species, including the threat of extinction.
