From subcultural identity to dominant youth culture: How did racist-authoritarian mentalities and far-right structures develop so easily in the new federal states after German reunification? To what extent should the current and historical causes of these mentalities and structures in the new federal states be assessed, and how do the action strategies of the Free Comradeships, which have become key players in the far-right spectrum regarding the ideological and mobilization of youth, specifically take shape? With a multidimensional perspective, the author first outlines the relevant developments as well as the strategic and ideological orientation of the Free Comradeships, and then uses empirical network analyses to identify the concrete fields of action and structural characteristics. The network of Free Comradeships in Berlin and the Skinheads of Saxon Switzerland serve as exemplary case studies.
