In addition to professional competence, personality is increasingly being attributed a more important role in professional success. Special attention is given to the topic of leadership. Even for entry-level professionals who are specifically prepared for a future leadership career through participation in a trainee program, the presence of leadership potential is becoming a more common hiring requirement. The book addresses this development by examining the personality traits that characterize a good leader and exploring whether such traits can already be diagnosed in young adults. The theoretical starting point of the work is the behavioral approach to charismatic leadership, particularly the Conger-Kanungo model. It investigates whether the model is applicable to young adults who have not been studied in this context so far. Additionally, it highlights correlates of individual aspects of leadership charisma. The book is aimed at researchers and practitioners who deal with the topic of leadership, for example, in the context of personnel selection and development.
