The academic book "Gender Inequalities, Capital Deepening and Trade" by Ozge Ozay offers a comprehensive analysis of the impacts of technological changes, capital intensity, and trade on gender-specific employment in the Turkish manufacturing industry between 1990 and 2001. The dissertation examines how employment opportunities for women evolve in a changing international competitive environment, particularly concerning productivity increases. By applying the Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) method, the determinants of employment are analyzed in relation to gender, qualifications, and capital intensity. The results indicate that capital deepening did not have gender-neutral employment effects and that there are differences in the complementarity of skilled male and female labor across various sectors.
