Jacques Rancière is considered one of the most influential contemporary French philosophers, whose entire body of work repeatedly showcases the theme of radical critique of the social sciences. This anthology takes up numerous motifs from the French philosopher from a genuinely social science perspective, further develops and critiques them. The individual articles present specific research perspectives developed in conjunction with Rancière, methodological considerations following his ideas, societal theoretical reflections against the backdrop of the philosopher's critique, and aspects of his political thought integrated into political theory. Additionally, social scientific critiques of Rancière's philosophy are also included in the arguments of the authors. Thus, the volume offers a wide-ranging spectrum of social scientific connections to the thinking of the French philosopher. On one hand, this anthology fills a gap in social scientific research, and on the other hand, it is the first genuinely social scientific contribution to the extensive recent research on Rancière's philosophical work.
