Biopolitics, biolaw, and bioethics are ubiquitous buzzwords associated with a field of scientific development that has accelerated rapidly in recent years. At a symposium titled "Globalization of Biopolitics, Biolaw, and Bioethics? Life at Its Beginning and End" at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, scholars engaged in interdisciplinary and international discourse on current issues. The topics range from stem cell and embryo research to preimplantation and prenatal diagnostics, germline therapy, therapeutic and reproductive cloning, as well as questions related to brain research, palliative care, and euthanasia.
