Product details

As much as Gunter Sachs (1932 - 2011) was perceived in public as a lover of beautiful women due to his extroverted lifestyle, he equally nurtured his career as a lover of the fine arts. Sachs was an art collector, patron, gallery owner, curator, and friend of art and artists, but above all, he was a successful photographer and filmmaker. For the first time, Gunter Sachs' own photographs from the genres of fashion, still life, architecture, portrait, landscape photography, as well as his experimental and conceptual photography, are presented in connection with his photography collection. This collection includes works from the 1930s to the present day: from renowned figures such as Andreas Feininger, Andy Warhol, Irving Penn, and Horst P. Horst to works by young artists. Additionally, the art historical influences on Sachs' photographic works, such as Surrealism, Nouveau Réalisme, and Pop Art, are highlighted. Gunter Sachs' photographic art is complemented by an insight into his film work.
