The publication "Hamburg Machine Revisited" is the result of the urban initiative project "City Curator Hamburg," which, during its second term from 2018 to 2020, dealt with the theme of digitality in the context of public art. Under the direction of Dirck Möllmann, this book documents the artistic contributions and dialogues that emerged from the project. The invited artists present their works in the form of image sequences and reflect in conversations with selected partners about their projects. The artistic section is complemented by essays from international authors addressing topics such as urbanity, labor, care, pandemics, collectivity, economy, and the internet. This artistically designed collection aims to provide food for thought and impulses for action at a time when the digitalization of urban life is rapidly advancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
