Joachim Fest, born on December 8, 1926, in Berlin, died on September 11, 2006, in Kronberg/Taunus. He worked with newspapers and broadcasting organizations. In 1963, he became editor-in-chief at NDR, and in 1965/66 he was the head of the television magazine Panorama. In 1973, he published the worldwide bestseller "Hitler - A Biography." From 1973 to 1993, he was the publisher of the FAZ. In 1981, he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Stuttgart. He published numerous works on contemporary history.
