Product details

The holographic versatile disc (HVD) is an advanced optical disc technology that offers a significantly higher storage capacity than conventional Blu-ray discs. This technology utilizes a process called collinear holography, where two green laser beams are combined into a single beam. Data is stored in the form of laser interference patterns in a holographic layer near the top of the disc. A blue laser serves as a reference beam to read servo information from a conventional CD-like aluminum layer at the bottom. This servo information is crucial for the precise positioning of the read head over the disc and functions similarly to the head, track, and sector information in traditional hard disk storage. Thus, HVD technology represents a significant advancement in the field of data storage and opens up new possibilities for storing large amounts of data.
