The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are often associated in German literature with controlling and accounting using buzzwords like 'revolution' or 'mega-trend.' The unstoppable globalization of markets and the accompanying increasing internationalization of business operations lead even non-capital market-oriented corporations to consider voluntarily transitioning their accounting to IFRS. Depending on the industry, structure, etc., the affected companies may experience only minor differences, but also significant deviations from financial statements prepared according to national accounting standards. However, the transition to IFRS not only results in one-time changes regarding external financial reporting for a company. Such a conversion necessitates a considerable adjustment requirement for many areas of the business, especially for controlling, due to the increased volume of information that must be disclosed. Against this backdrop, the impacts of such a transition concerning controlling are the focus of this book.
