In recent decades, industrial tourism has developed as a branch of cultural tourism. Many organizations worldwide have taken it upon themselves to preserve the cultural heritage of this era and make it accessible to a broad audience. Despite the steadily increasing number of visitors, industrial tourism is still only known to a few specialists in its form and significance for society. This work presents industrial tourism and specifically addresses the industrial tourism projects in Central Germany. The aim of the study is to demonstrate whether the industrial tourism projects in Central Germany have a future in the long term and can thus create new employment opportunities in structurally weak regions. To confirm the theoretical statements, interviews were conducted to answer the question regarding the future of the projects and their employment potential. Based on the theoretical discussions and the interpretation of the collected data, the work concludes with a final forecast.
