The Iso Rivolta IR 300 is a luxurious coupe that was introduced in 1962 by Iso Automotoveicoli S.p.A. in Bresso, a suburb of Milan. Under the leadership of Renzo Rivolta and former Ferrari engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, the vehicle was designed as a Gran Turismo car suitable for long and unforgettable journeys. Although it was homologated as a touring car rather than a GT for motorsport, the Iso Rivolta IR 300 was meant to be known for its powerful engine, high build quality, and elegant style. The manufacturing process required expensive pressing tools; however, the production numbers did not justify the investment in the associated presses, which is why the tools were stored at the factory for years and occasionally sent to a subcontractor for the production of body parts.
