Andreas Grüner, born in 1973, is the head of the Institute of Classical Archaeology at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. After earning his doctorate in Freiburg im Breisgau and his habilitation in Munich, he worked at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the Technical University of Munich, as well as the universities of Tübingen and Leipzig, and held visiting professorships at Harvard, Pisa, and Changchun (China). His research focuses on areas such as ancient image sciences and aesthetics, pre-modern art and design theory, as well as the history of Greek and Roman architecture. Julian Schreyer, born in 1990, is a research associate at the Institute of Classical Archaeology at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. He has received scholarships and conducted research stays in Oxford, Vienna, and Istanbul, focusing on ancient architecture, urbanism, and image sciences.
