In addition to the group of Jewish lawyers, it was primarily Jewish physicians who faced rapidly organized antisemitism in Germany starting in 1933. Based on or as a result of the Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service, Jewish doctors were dismissed from state and municipal institutions and expelled from universities. Numerous regulations and laws discriminated against Jewish physicians in various ways. This was followed by the withdrawal of health insurance licenses and ultimately the revocation of medical licenses. Many affected individuals emigrated, while many of the Jewish doctors who remained in Germany were deported and murdered.
