Between Isfahan and L.A.: A Novel about Brotherhood and Belonging

As the youngest of three brothers, K. grows up in the San Fernando Valley and wants nothing more than to be a typical American boy. However, even his name, the name of a Persian king, reflects a different background, the immigration of his parents. When he develops feelings for his best friend Johnny, K. increasingly questions who he really is. At home, money is tight, and his father is a gambling addict with a quick temper. One night, he abducts K. and his brothers to Iran. Months later, the brothers return alone and deeply disturbed to their mother in the USA. From then on, they must fight to find their own paths in the world—while trying not to lose each other.
