In our education system, the various schools are structured in a way that builds upon one another. The elementary school provides a foundational education that prepares the child for attending secondary school. Each transition also brings challenges that both the student and the school must navigate. The elementary school is tasked with equipping the student with the necessary skills for further education, and the student is expected to apply these skills in the next stage of schooling. The elementary student needs the competence to orient themselves during the orientation phase regarding their individual learning opportunities and the objective requirements set by the school. It is not only their responsibility to shape their own search process but also to articulate and advocate for their will. This paper explores what this communicative competence entails and how it can be integrated as a component of foundational education in elementary school instruction through a new subject called 'advanced instruction.'.
