The Contrabass ABC is a new method for double bass in three volumes and a playbook. It has been designed for both beginners and those switching instruments and is not exclusively a children's school. The Contrabass ABC is aimed at double bass students of all ages. It has been developed over more than 20 years of teaching experience for students aged 6 to 60 and has been tested by them.

It consists of exercises, double bass duets with two student parts, and pieces with very simple piano accompaniments. Many pieces are also suitable for double bass lessons. The tradition of well-known classical double bass schools is combined in the Contrabass ABC with the needs and preferences of younger students, for whom there has previously been little teaching material available. A new feature is the introduction in the third position, which makes it easier to learn body posture, hand positioning, and power transfer.

The use of CDs and the stylistic range from Mozart and Beethoven to well-known songs, folk songs, blues, rock/pop, and jazz compositions are further highlights of the Contrabass ABC. It is structured in a spiral curriculum and is based on a teaching method that considers both the double bass student and the instrument as a whole.
