Product details
Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) systems are software systems that are used to support supply chain management and serve as extensions of the implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Their use is becoming increasingly important.
David Betge analyzes the structure of modular APS systems, represents selected modules through quantitative decision models, and develops a coordination approach for aligning partial plans. In doing so, he incorporates aspects of classical approaches to hierarchical production planning as well as questions of aggregation and disaggregation for planning levels of varying detail. With the help of his iterative procedure, production plans that are operationally feasible can be determined after just a few coordination steps.
