The book "Language Policy Evaluation in Upper Primary Phase" by Justus Kashindi Ausiku offers a comprehensive analysis of the implementation of the new Language-in-Education Policy (LiEP) in the upper grades of primary schools in the Oshana region of Namibia. Following independence in 1990, the need was recognized to replace the old language education policy with a new one that promotes the use of the mother tongue alongside English. This study examines the impacts of this policy and analyzes the outcomes in the context of relevant literature to determine whether they align with the theoretical foundations of language policy evaluation. The investigation identifies five key findings related to topics such as mother tongue, language preferences, language practices, awareness of the policy, and government support.
