Temporary workers seem to be the slaves of the new labor world. In recent years, the number of temporary workers has grown to over 600,000 - with an upward trend. Their working conditions are the same, yet the principle of "equal work - equal pay" does not apply here. Often, even a full-time salary is not enough to secure a livelihood. Taxpayers subsidize these jobs in favor of employers through social benefits. Since 2004, the principle of equal treatment has been legally applicable to temporary or agency workers. M. Christian Seigis examines how these legal requirements are sometimes circumvented and suggests ways to change this, such as through combined or statutory minimum wages.
