The ability to reliably meet delivery commitments is an important criterion when selecting suppliers. This book addresses this issue in order-related production networks, meaning temporary corporate collaborations, with the aim of objectively assessing the delivery reliability of potential network participants during the proposal creation and availability check. It presents approaches for calculating relevant key figures based on the provision of the requested quantity, grounded in the quantification of relevant uncertainties. These key figures determine the reliability of the entire value chain, taking into account time buffers, and can therefore be used for the selection of network participants. Additionally, the key figures for delivery reliability exhibit dynamic behavior during the value creation process. By integrating these key figures into the management of this process, it becomes possible to identify potential disruptions and their impacts before they occur, allowing for proactive disruption management.
