The work dealt with the various forms of logistics outsourcing, which are summarized under the term contract logistics. Both the demand and supply sides were examined, and the respective opportunities and risks associated with outsourcing logistics services were considered. In particular, the conditions for the emergence of supply and demand, as well as the changing requirements for logistics service providers, were presented. The importance of high customer loyalty and the necessity of targeted measures for differentiation in competition were explained. Logistics service providers face the challenge of moving away from interchangeable basic services and unstructured service lists. On the other hand, clients are confronted with the question of how to manage their logistics depth amidst rising service expectations, cost pressures, and limited capacities. The work defined and typologized logistical value-added services. In a contingency model, contextual factors, design parameters, and performance metrics for value-added services in contract logistics were described, and the essential relationships between them were developed.
