The book is a report on my personal experiences, emotions, and thoughts on the Camino de Santiago. The Camino has become my friend. As a friend, it offers you nature, the history of the path, encounters with people, and time for yourself. All of this has greatly expanded my horizons. In particular, the experiences with fellow pilgrims from around the world have been a tremendous enrichment. In the book, I place special emphasis on describing my thoughts and emotions. These are unique to me. Everything else can be found in much greater detail in other books about the Camino or online. Being on the road with only the essentials, without pressure and stress from the outside, learning to feel and appreciate the possible simplicity of life, and setting new priorities—this has all changed my way of thinking. The book is meant to motivate others to walk the Camino themselves. I will do it again, together with my wife.
