Due to its favorable geographical location in the heart of Europe, at the center of the internal market, Germany has always been a hub for trade flows from all directions. The need for information is increasing due to the complexity of many products, especially in the capital goods sector, and the variety of offerings in all areas. This makes the exchange of experiences and the establishment of personal trust relationships increasingly important. Networking and maintaining contacts can best be achieved at trade fairs, through direct conversations with potential customers. An increased international presence at trade fairs, as well as a greater presence of foreign exhibitors and visitors, naturally places additional demands on the qualification of employees, both at trade fair companies and at exhibiting companies. In this paper, I will address these and other qualifications of employees from exhibiting companies. I aim to illustrate the significance of intercultural skills at trade fairs in the context of the internationalization and globalization of the economy.
