"Migration and Development in the Republic of Moldova" is a comprehensive study of migration trends in the Republic of Moldova, which have evolved significantly over the past ten years. This research highlights the social networks that play a role in these migration processes and analyzes their impact on the social and economic development of the country. The study identifies two main forums in which social networks operate: on one hand, family relationships are crucial as they provide migrants with important information and connections that make migration safer. On the other hand, Moldovans, Romanians, and Ukrainians meet at migration destinations to exchange services, with the most common forms of support being assistance with job searching or housing. The findings indicate that while existing social networks reduce the risks of migration, they have only indirect effects on development in Moldova.
