Commemoration is publicly shaped remembrance. Public remembrance is part of the political culture. This requires memorials and monuments that accompany us in our daily lives and encourage us to learn from history. This documentation provides an overview of the memorials, commemorative sites, and places of remembrance for the victims of National Socialism in Munich. At the same time, it serves as a reference work. The informational material is divided into three volumes and is organized alphabetically. This documentation places special importance on the biographies of the victims. It presents the political, religious, and ideological motives of resistance fighters, showing that humans are not infinitely susceptible to influence. The book can also be used as a thematic city guide, as the routes to the places of remembrance are explained.
