With these texts, activists from Sweden initiated an initial and sharply conducted debate on classism within the left. This anthology brings together autobiographical perspectives of leftist activists from Sweden on the topic of class. In addition to exclusions and barriers, the question of interpretative authority is addressed. For example, Frederic Carlsson-Andersson describes in the text "Instead of Che Guevara" that class is a concept that is elusive only from a privileged perspective, while from "below" it is a directly experienced, often painful reality. The description of the authors' backgrounds does not follow a deficit perspective but emphasizes solidarity and connection without romanticizing. Class is an embodied experience, involving feelings of shame and triggers of anger. The experiences of the authors make it clear that class is not a singular inequality but must be considered alongside racism and sexism. This is not in the sense of mere addition, but as specific experiences whose descriptions continually evade prevailing logics.
