The book "Multiscale Modeling of Heterogeneous Structures" provides a comprehensive overview of multiscale approaches and homogenization methods in the analysis of heterogeneous materials. It addresses current advancements in damage assessment and crack initiation, as well as the latest developments in the discretization and analysis of these materials. The authors, Peter Wriggers, Jurica Soric, and Olivier Allix, present various computational methods and software developments applicable in engineering science. The content is based on the results of the international workshop "Multiscale Modeling of Heterogeneous Structures" (MUMO 2016), which took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The book is divided into several parts that deal with defects in composite materials, novel computational schemes, gradient-enhanced modeling, and thermoplastic as well as ferroelectric models.
