After every sunset, I am wounded and orphaned - under this motto, taken from Rilke's Book of Hours, the editors present a collection of essays by prominent authors on the life and work of Liselotte Richter, whose birthday is celebrated for the 100th time on June 7, 2006. The multifaceted work of the first female professor of philosophy and theology in Germany is examined exemplarily, with excerpts from her writings preceding the essays to provide an authentic insight into her thinking. The volume offers a historical appreciation of the philosopher within the various political and intellectual contexts in which she wrote, thus contributing to the exploration of modern philosophy and theology history.
