The societal phenomenon of women entering the workforce en masse has changed the traditional role distributions within families. This issue is addressed by the Austrian author Christine Nöstlinger in her youth books. Ilse escapes from home due to the tense atmosphere that arose after her parents' divorce. Following her escape, the family falls into panic. What will be Ilse's fate? The girls' novel introduces characters of new types. The purpose of this book is to analyze them. Furthermore, the psychological and sociological background of the narrative is discussed in detail.
