This is how one imagines a painter's studio: packed with paintings and drawings tightly hung on the walls or filling old and new portfolios. Visitors are allowed to browse through the studio and ask, "Where is the painting with the two goddesses?" The Cologne painter and author Gerda Laufenberg relies on the visitors to find the painting themselves. After all, it was still there a year ago... Her friend found it too colorful: she discovered works long thought to be lost and placed them next to new ones. And she decided: This has to become a book. Together with the initially hesitant artist and an art historical consultant, she gathered material from 45 years, juxtaposing powerful acrylic paintings with delicate drawings or caricatures, travel sketches with steel sheet figures... Nothing is off-limits.
