This is the story of the donkey who fell seriously ill on the big day when Nicholas wanted to walk with him to the children. He is heavily loaded and soon can no longer keep up with his master's pace, falling behind. Nicholas notices that his companion is sick and seeks shelter in a shed. Despite the long rest, the donkey simply cannot continue marching. But Nicholas does not want to leave him alone, especially now that he is feeling so unwell. He stays and takes care of the sick animal. But what will the people think, now that Nicholas will not be coming to them? Suddenly, they hear voices and see lights...
