The book "Nonlinear Predictive Control Using Particle Swarm Optimization" by Muhammad Salman Yousuf provides a comprehensive analysis and innovative approaches to the application of Model Predictive Control (MPC) in nonlinear systems. Given the increasing complexity of modern systems and the rising demands for the quality of automated control, this work presents a novel implementation approach that leverages the advantages of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). This method formulates MPC as an optimization problem that is minimized through PSO, resulting in improved adaptability and effective handling of constraints. Notably, the application of this technique to industrial systems, particularly in the energy supply sector, which has remained relatively unexplored by MPC, is emphasized. The book addresses both SISO and MIMO systems and offers practical solutions for three specific problems in the field of power systems.
